Jorge knew what he wanted to do in his career as a pharmacist, yet he found himself stuck in retail, a place he knew was incompatible with his career goals.

Of course, it’s no secret how demanding retail can be, thanks to long shifts—and, as Jorge knows well, “a lot of pressure” linked to financial goals, scripts, and immunizations metrics.

Worst, as he was promoted to manager the pressure to meet performance targets only grew as did his responsibilities which only pushed Jorge further and further away from the very human element that prompted him to go into pharmacy in the first place.

Something had to change. 

After trying to look on his own and not making any progress, he knew he would need some help.

The big problem? Jorge claims there were not “a lot of places for me to apply” and that he was “really lost.”

He simply “didn’t know where to begin” and went so far as to declare that “desperate” best described his state of mind.
