Once she enrolled her mentor and her got 100% clear on what alternative paths were available to her. Alhtough her background was limited to retail, her mentor helped her realize that her "....skills from retail pharmacy were transferable to several different roles in different pharmacy setting."
With the guidance of her mentor and the PCC resume writer, tehy were able to craft a resume and cover letter that emphasized the right transferrable skills so that she would stand out as a candidate.
"I never would've thought like how to write a resume in that manner to put it together in such a different structure. It looked completely different from what I grew up with or what I was taught in school. All of those were something that I really appreciated that were really helpful throughout my journey."
Once she implemented her new job search strategy and used her new resume and cover letter, she started getting results.
"...when I had my first interview for a couple of positions, I thought it was a fluke and I was, you know, not sure if that was actually real."
Then finally, she had the BIG BREAKTHROUGH...
"I was shaking when I got the job offer. I literally was shaking because I didn't think it would happen, and it seemed like something that would never happen because you don't, you, you don't ever hear people saying they were successful getting out of a previous pharmacy environment that they've practiced."
